Highlights at Our Restaurant

Swiss Pastry Shop Signature: The Black Forest Cake

One of the most talked-about desserts in Fort Worth, the Black Forest cake at Swiss Pastry Shop has developed a reputation all its own. Unlike traditional versions filled with cherries and soft layers of sponge, this variation features a meringue base, freeze-dried texture, and airy construction. While not everyone agrees on its classification as a “true” Black Forest cake, many find its uniqueness unforgettable.
Loyal customers have called it a “gem of a frozen treat” and “light, airy, crunchy, and super yummy.” Others praise it as their favorite dessert in the city, while some first-timers have felt surprised by the texture and presentation. Despite the polarizing opinions, it remains a top-seller, especially during the holidays. Pre-ordering is highly recommended, as it often sells out.
The bakery stands by its recipe and service, even offering full refunds to dissatisfied customers. The result is a dessert with character, backed by years of refinement, that customers either return for—or can’t stop talking about.

A Display Case of Handcrafted Pastries

Beyond the headline-making Black Forest cake, Swiss Pastry Shop showcases a wide variety of handcrafted pastries. From buttery croissants and apricot pouches to coconut cakes and cannoli, each treat is prepared with attention to flavor and texture. Customer favorites include the strawberry tart, red velvet cupcake, cinnamon rolls, and specialty cookies like the chocolate Florentine.
Photos from satisfied customers highlight the appeal of the colorful displays and generous portions. Many guests comment on how hard it is to choose just one item—and most end up leaving with a full box. Whether you’re craving something flaky, creamy, or fruity, the pastry selection offers something to satisfy every sweet tooth.
Freshly made daily, the pastries sometimes sell out quickly. Early visits are encouraged to ensure the best variety. It’s not uncommon for guests to visit weekly or stock up for special occasions.

Made-to-Order Cakes for Special Events

Swiss Pastry Shop is also known for its made-to-order cakes for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, and other milestones. Customers have praised the staff’s attentiveness and willingness to bring custom cake ideas to life. With decorators like Amber taking care to interpret design requests and add personal touches, celebrations are elevated by both flavor and presentation.
One bride shared how the team worked closely with her to design both a wedding cake and groom’s cake, while others mention perfectly executed birthday and shower cakes that delighted guests. Whether you’re requesting a classic coconut cake or a bold new creation, Swiss Pastry Shop’s cake team is committed to creating something memorable.

Beyond Pastries: Savory Treats and Local Lunch Favorites

While the focus is undoubtedly on dessert, the Swiss Pastry Shop also offers savory dishes that have gained their own fan base. The Fort Worth cheesesteak and specialty burgers like the chili burger and mushroom burger are praised for generous portions and bold flavors. Even items like the focaccia with pesto, feta, and walnuts have received high marks from customers seeking more than sweets.
Although the dine-in restaurant section has closed in recent years, many savory items are still available for takeout. Visitors recommend calling ahead to confirm what’s available, especially if you’re hoping to try something seasonal or less common.

Community-Backed, Generationally Loved

With hundreds of positive reviews from both locals and travelers, Swiss Pastry Shop continues to be a trusted name in Fort Worth. For some, it’s a weekly stop. For others, it’s a must-visit every time they’re in town. Many customers have been coming for over 20 years, bringing along their children and grandchildren to share the tradition.
The staff is often described as friendly and knowledgeable, willing to guide newcomers through the selection or make thoughtful accommodations—like adding sprinkles for a child’s donut on request. This commitment to personalized service helps keep Swiss Pastry Shop rooted in the hearts of its patrons, no matter how long the lines may get.

Planning Your Visit to Swiss Pastry Shop

Located conveniently in Fort Worth with ample parking, Swiss Pastry Shop is easy to access whether you’re picking up a pre-order or browsing the display case. Most items are available for takeout, and while the bakery is closed on Mondays, the rest of the week tends to be busy—especially around the holidays or weekends.
It’s best to call ahead for large orders or specialty cakes. Gluten-free options are available on select days, and seasonal offerings mean there’s often something new to try. Don’t let the understated building fool you—inside is a rich mix of tradition, quality, and unforgettable flavors that make Swiss Pastry Shop a true local gem.

We went here for the first time today and even went back after tasting their cookies! Cookies are a must try especially the almond cookie and the sprinkle sugar cookie! We also got the very large sausage and egg biscuit (she said the eggs are cage free) which was SO good! They have cakes, pastries, cookies, breads and breakfast items. Very reasonably priced! We will be regulars here for sure!

I absolutely love this family owned bakery. Barbara is soooo incredibly nice. The best things on their menu is the sticky buns and the Nutella crescents. Everything is baked fresh and you can tell how home made everything is. I always tell my friends about this place and since discovering it, I will never turn back.

The cookies, cakes, and pies are stellar, especially with coffee. Although the restaurant half is no longer open, the bakery is still thriving and putting out excellent goods. Loved the lemon pound cake and almond cookie most of all, so far! Probably the best bakery I know in Fort Worth, 5/5.

Every year for the last 30 years my family has bought black forest meringue cake from this bakery for birthdays. It's unique, crispy, and my whole family associates the flavor with birthdays and family.

The chocolate cheesecake is not all chocolate but its good unfortunately its like thick chocolate on top. ( which i love but my mom doesn’t ) the chocolate pie tastes good ( more like a coconut flavor than chocolate though, I wish it was just plain cream or cool whip on top more chocolate flavor.
